During the consultation, we'll chat about your vision for your special day and any ideas you have for your dream cake. I'll help weave all these elements together to craft your bespoke wedding cake.
The cost for the virtual consultation is £65, which includes the delivery of your cake-tasting box.

How much wedding cake will i need?
Ordering the right size wedding cake is crucial to ensure all your guests can enjoy this delightful treat. You don't want anyone to miss out on a slice of your special cake, so it’s important to plan accordingly. Here are some key factors to consider when determining the size of your wedding cake:
Service Style:
If your wedding cake will be served by caterers during mingling and dancing, you may not need to account for every guest. However, if you're serving cake at a seated reception, ensure you order enough for everyone.
Other Desserts:
If you're planning a dessert display or serving plated desserts at the table, you can order less cake since guests will have other sweets to enjoy.
Budget and Aesthetics:
If you desire a stunning tiered cake but have budget constraints, consider incorporating one or two layers of "fake cake." This will create a striking visual impact while saving on costs.
Prioritizing Your Cake:
If the cake isn't a top priority for your budget, consider reallocating those funds to another aspect of your wedding. It’s helpful to establish a total budget for your cake and then determine the size, style, and servings you can afford.
Top Tier Traditions:
Many couples save the top tier of their wedding cake, freeze it, and enjoy it on their first anniversary. This works particularly well with rich fruit cakes. Alternatively, you could save just a couple of slices if you prefer not to keep an entire tier.

how many cake tiers do i need?
At Razzmatazz Cakes, most of our wedding cakes are custom-made with multiple tiers to suit each couple's vision. While individual tiers can be presented on cake drums and placed on specialist wedding cake stands, the stacked design is the most popular choice among our clients.
In a stacked wedding cake, each tier is carefully positioned on a reinforced cake card and supported by internal dowels, ensuring the entire structure is secure and stable. This method provides a strong foundation, allowing for a sleek, elegant look.
You have the flexibility to choose from various shapes, whether you prefer a classic round tiered cake or want to mix it up with square or hexagonal tiers. The possibilities are endless, and you can personalize the design to match your wedding theme.
When deciding on the number of tiers, consider how many guests you'll be serving and your budget. Larger guest lists will naturally require more tiers, but Razzmatazz Cakes also offers faux tiers that look identical to the real thing. These allow you to create the dramatic height and visual impact you desire without exceeding your budget.

How do I cut my wedding cake?
The number of servings you can get from your wedding cake largely depends on how it's sliced. At Razzmatazz Cakes, we provide a detailed cake-cutting guide before your big day, helping you get the maximum number of portions from your stunning centrepiece.
For sponge cakes, dessert-sized slices typically measure 1" x 2" x H", offering a generous serving. However, many couples opt for smaller finger-sized portions, which measure 1" x 1" x H". For fruit cakes, portions are traditionally cut at 1" x 1" x H".
Our sponge wedding cakes are made with a satisfying depth, ensuring ample portions for your guests, whether you choose dessert or finger-sized slices.
HOW MUCH DOES A WEDDING CAKE COST?
Since every wedding cake at Razzmatazz Cakes is custom-designed to match your unique vision, we provide an accurate quote once you've selected your cake’s design. The final price depends on:
Cost of ingredients and materials
Time needed to create your chosen design
Cake size and the number of servings required
Below are our base prices for wedding cakes, covered in our signature chocolate ganache and white fondant. These prices are for cakes in our Classic flavours and do not include delivery. Please note, additional flavours and extra-tall cakes will incur extra charges.
Wedding Cake Prices (Portions based on round tiers):
- 2 Tiers: from £237.50 (serves approx. 38/22)
- 3 Tiers: from £390.00 (serves approx. 94/48)
- 4 Tiers: from £610.00 (serves approx. 178/92)
- 5 Tiers: from £865.00 (serves approx. 278/154)
- 6 Tiers: from £1135.00 (serves approx. 446/234)
Servings are based on slice sizes of 1" x 1" or 2" x 1" deep portions.

We encourage couples to share their budget during the consultation, and we can suggest designs accordingly. We also offer cost-saving options such as undecorated cutting cakes, which can be kept in the kitchen and served alongside your main wedding cake. This option, along with faux cake tiers, allows you to maintain the visual impact without exceeding your budget. The smallest tier can be edible to retain the tradition of cake-cutting, and your guests will never know the difference!
Cake Preparation:
All cakes are generously brushed with a complimentary syrup and layered with a creamy filling before being covered in Belgian chocolate ganache. This creates a flawless, crisp finish, topped with a smooth layer of fondant icing. Each cake is beautifully presented on an iced, ribbon-trimmed cake drum.
We also offer cake stand hire to elevate your cake at the reception.
Please Note: Prices are subject to change due to economic factors, but once you receive a quote, the price is fixed.
YOUR DESIGN AND QUOTE
After our consultation, we’ll thoughtfully sketch your final wedding cake design and provide a detailed quote based on everything we’ve discussed.
To ensure your special day is reserved, we’ll hold your wedding date for one week while we answer any additional questions you may have. After that, a 50% booking fee will be required to officially secure your date.
WEDDING CAKE PAYMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your wedding date and confirms your order. This deposit is based on the quoted price, with the final payment due six weeks before your wedding day. If your cake design includes a fruit cake or a significant number of handcrafted sugar flowers, we may request an earlier payment to accommodate the necessary preparation time.
We also offer flexible payment options to help you manage your wedding cake budget:
- Pay 50% now and 50% later
- Pay in 3 instalments
- Monthly payments

Your first wedding anniversary is like no other celebration. It is a beautiful day which strengthens your bond as you reminisce on the past year, what you have shared, the memories you have made, and the fun you have had. What better way to mark this milestone moment than with a cake, better still a free cake!
Each couple that purchases a Razzmatazz wedding cake automatically qualifies for a 6 inch round cake in one of my Classic flavours to help them celebrate one year later.
how much notice do you need for a wedding cake?
We strive to accommodate every order, but we maintain a strict limit on the number of wedding cakes we create each week to ensure the highest quality. We believe in quality over quantity and will never compromise this standard.
In general, providing at least four months' notice for wedding cakes is ideal to secure your booking and allow us to craft your cake to perfection.
delivery
You are welcome to collect your wedding cake at no extra cost. We will provide detailed travel and setup instructions to ensure your centerpiece arrives in perfect, photo-ready condition. However, please be aware that some designs, particularly tiered cakes with delicate decorations, can be heavy and require careful handling when loading and transporting.
Alternatively, we offer a delivery and setup service for an additional fee, which is calculated based on mileage, location, and the time required for setup. Let us take care of everything so you can enjoy your day stress-free!
