This blog has been a while in the making, but it's finally here!
I began my cake journey 22 years ago when my daughter was born, making her first birthday cake. The bug firmly took hold on her fourth birthday when I made my first-ever novelty cake featuring mermaids reclining on a rock. Even though the mermaids were a bit misshapen and probably would have looked more in place on a Halloween cake😂🎃 and I'd yet to master some basic cake-decorating techniques, the joy on my daughter's and her friends' faces was everything, and I was well and truly bitten by the baking bug.
Running my own baking business from home was always a dream, and I wondered if it would ever become a reality.
After several years of making celebration cakes for friends and family and eating copious amounts of cake all in the name of research, you understand, I finally plucked up the courage, officially re-launching my business in November 2022, and Razzmatazz Cakes was born!
There is so much that goes into setting up and running a home baking business, and I learn something new every day.
In my blog, I will share how I "baked it happen" (typo and terrible pun intended😂 ), share my learnings, experiences and insight into what goes into the bespoke cake business, and share tips, tricks and the occasional recipe along the way.
